  • The explanation of eating disorder akin to alcoholism, and the need to arrest the addiction, before causes and conditions clarifyies, edifies and brings much needed relief to the “dieter”

  • This book has worked incredible magic in my life. (You could very well see yourself within these pages and draw consolation from the fact that you’re not alone with this disease.) The clarity that has entered my life through reading this book is astounding. I am deeply grateful to the author for the healing that you’ve put out there through these pages for all of us so afflicted. The wisdom in the statement: “There is no excuse that justifies returning to an active disease” is so to the point that I’m completely humbled. I will never be the same again (just so much better) and for this, I thank you!!

  • I love this book – I’m half way through and already I have a firm definition of what abstinence is to me; and I’m living this definition one day at a time. I feel so glad to have found this recovery workbook. Becky has been there, and she knows the pain of yo yo weight loss and weight gain. I didn’t know for sure if there was such a thing as “comfortable abstinence”, until now. I am so grateful I can add this book to my library – knowing that it really works- when I do what it suggests. Anyone suffering with body image and food issues would do well to read this guide. It is a practical study from someone who knows what it’s like to obsess and dwell on body and food and eating; and developed a way to get past those time wasting issues, and into life!

  • I got, and followed this book over 10 years ago, and have not had to live in the crazy up and down weight (mostly up) world since then. For over 10 years, I have followed the priciples of this book and been able to stay sane about eating and food through all kinds of difficult life situations – pregancy, death, divorce. It taught me how to live without using food to get through things, and how to live without being afraid of food, either. It was pretty hard the first 3 months or so, but SO worth it! I would recommend this book to anyone who is completely fed up with yo-yo dieting and the guilt and remorse that come from feeling out-of-control with food.

  • This book contains a lot of wisdom and clarity about how eating disorders work, and how to arrest them, that isn’t available in the vast dieting industry, and often not from the medical profession either. I have worked with Becky Jackson for several years concerning my own food and eating issues, and I have learned so much more than I did in any previous “diet” program. This book is NOT about dieting. Becky combines physical, emotional and spiritual recovery in her approach. My hope is that this book becomes more widely known, and that more people can benefit from Becky’s experience and expertise, and from the stories of the recovery of others that are also in the book.
